The original home General Rufus Putnam built for his wife and family is today encased in the Campus Martius Museum, Marietta, Ohio.

In the photograph, entitled "Campus Martius," you will see the "fort" built in a square. The settlers purchased individual houses on the outer edge of the fort. Rufus Putnam's home was in the corner and one of the larger houses.
